TASTE, LEARN, DISCOVER
Coffee is more than just Arabica. In this engaging and informative lecture, we explore the fascinating diversity within the coffee world — focusing on the three main coffee species: Arabica, Canephora and Liberica.

You’ll learn about the specific characteristics of each of these species, their unique histories, and how each one is reshaping the global coffee landscape today. We’ll dive into how climate change, market trends, and quality innovations are challenging the old Arabica-dominant narrative.
In addition, we’ll take you into the world of our Direct Trade farmers — sharing their background, their deep connection to these unique lesser-known coffee species, and how sustainability drives their choices.
This lecture combines theory and tasting: we’ll guide you through a curated cupping of all three species, giving you the chance to taste and compare their sensory profiles yourself.
Whether you’re a barista, roaster, coffee professional, or just deeply curious, this lecture will broaden your perspective on what coffee is — and what it can be. On top of that you get to visit Onan’s roastery and spend your Sunday afternoon with us!
