Fun fact

One of the first coffee varieties that was naturally low in caffeine was Laurina (Bourbon Pointu; a small pointy bean from the Bourbon lineage). This Lowcaf Aramosa is a unique Brazilian coffee variety grown at Fazenda Dutra, a family-run farm known for its innovation and sustainability. What makes this coffee special? It contains only about one-third of the caffeine found in regular Arabica beans—naturally.

The variety behind this coffee is Aramosa, a rare cross between Coffea arabica and Coffea racemosa. Thanks to its genetic makeup, Aramosa offers a rich, smooth flavour profile while delivering significantly less caffeine. It’s not decaffeinated through industrial processes—this is coffee that grows lowcaf by nature.

For those who are sensitive to caffeine, or simply want to enjoy an extra cup without the sleep disruption, Lowcaf Aramosa offers the perfect solution. You get the full-bodied experience of a specialty coffee—complete with complex notes and a satisfying mouthfeel—without the usual buzz.

At Onan, we source this Lowcaf Aramosa through direct trade from Fazenda Dutra in Brazil. The Dutra family has been producing high-quality coffees for generations, combining traditional techniques with modern practices to support both environmental health and community wellbeing. Their commitment to traceability and flavour excellence is reflected in every cup.

Fazenda Dutra is located in the green hills of Minas Gerais, one of Brazil’s most celebrated coffee regions. The farm is fully solar-powered and Rainforest Alliance certified, with a strong focus on biodiversity and regenerative agriculture. Their work with innovative varieties like Aramosa shows their deep dedication to the future of coffee—both in taste and sustainability.

Whether you’re enjoying a late-afternoon brew or looking to reduce your daily caffeine intake, Lowcaf Aramosa is a mindful choice. It lets you enjoy coffee more often, without sacrificing quality or your sleep.

And the flavour? Expect a gentle sweetness, soft acidity, and notes of hazelnut, red fruit, and floral spice—making it as exciting as any high-caf counterpart.

Lowcaf isn’t just a trend—it’s a thoughtful evolution in the world of specialty coffee. One that invites you to savour more moments, more mindfully.
